Delta To Add NGO-HNL Service

On December 22nd, Delta Air Lines will add service between NGO and HNL using their 767-300ERs.

Hawaiian To Launch ICN Service

Beginning January 2011, Hawaiian Air will launch service to ICN (Incheon, Seoul, South Korea), pending approval by the South Korean Transport Ministry. HAL459/460 will operate four days a week with their 767-300ERs, and also code-share with Korean Air (which already has two flights between HNL and ICN).

This will be Hawaiian Air's third flight to Asia, after their service to HND, which will launch later this year, and their current service to MNL. It is also their sixth international destination.

Delta's N851NW (c/n 609) is seen here substituting in place of a A330-300 as flight DL639 to Narita. It was originally delivered to Northwest in August 2004 and repainted to Delta colors 5 years later.

Air New Zealand's ZK-NBW

Air New Zealand's 747-419, ZK-NBW (c/n 29375), performed a charter flight for the Royal Australian Defence Forces from TSV to HNL as ANZ1982. The flight is possibly to support RIMPAC 2010.

ZK-NBV returned to AKL as ANZ6083 a few hours later.

ANA Announces HND-HNL Service

Beginning October 31st, All Nippon Airlines announced that they too will begin service between HND and HNL using a 767-300ER. ANA will compete against Hawaiian Air, Japan Airlines, and China Airlines with this new route, and the opening of the new runway at HND.

VP-BLK

VP-BLK (c/n 21961), a 747SP-31 arrived at HNL today from SIN. The 747 is registered to Las Vegas Sands Corporation, and is bound for LAS after its HNL fuel stop.

21961 was originally delivered to TWA as N58201 in 1980. Five years later, it went to United Arab Emirates' Dubai Air Wing as A6-SMR to become an executive transport.

N717AV

N717AV, a former Henson Airlines (US Airways Express) Dash8-102 is being delivered through HNL today. It was previously registered as N925HA while with Henson. In 2003, it went to Canada to fly for Provincial Airlines / Regional 1 and Canadian North.

All-White 767-300

There is an all-white 767-300 parked at Hardstand3 on HNL's north ramp today. It's an ex-VARIG 767-341ER, PP-VOI, which was delivered 1989 to VARIG in their original colors. It was also painted in the Star Alliance livery, and the "Compass Rose" livery. PP-VOI was to be acquired by BRA Transportes Aéreos, and re-registered as PR-BRT, but was not taken up. In 2008, Wells Fargo Bank acquired this 763, and was registered as N752SJ (see 1st comment).

China Eastern's B-5515

China Eastern Airlines will have a second jet today at HNL, but this is going to their fleet. B-5515 (c/n 36769), a 737-89P, is flying as CES299.

Air China's B-5510

Air China is taking delivery of B-5510 (c/n 36548), another GECAS-leased 737-86N, and is flying as CCA51.

China Eastern's B-2263

B-2263 (c/n 53586) is the next China Eastern MD-90-30 that is making its way from PVG to the mainland as CES599. Like the others before it, it will join the Delta Air Lines fleet.

Sun Country's N809SY

Sun Country Airlines' N809SY (c/n 30683), a 737-8Q8, made an appearance at HNL as SCX8601 from IWA. The flight transferred Hawai‘i Department of Corrections prison inmates housed at Arizona prisons back to prisons here. The return flight took another set of Hawai‘i inmates to a prison in Arizona.

With the Omega Tanker 707-368, N707MQ (c/n 21368) on HNL's north ramp over the past few days, all of the Boeing 7_7 series can be seen at HNL.

N707MQ was delivered to Saudia in 1977 as HZ-ACK. It was then moved to the Saudi Arabian Royal Flight as HZ-HM3. It wore both the original jet fleet livery, and the current Saudi Arabian livery.

China Eastern's B-5516

China Eastern Airlines is taking delivery of their GECAS-leased 737-86N, B-5516 (c/n 39389), today, and is flying as CES299.

N347AS

Aerlease Inc, (Coral Gables, FL) has purchased a former Japan Airlines 747-446D, JA8090 (c/n 26347). It has been re-registered as N347AS, and is en route to ROW via HNL from NRT.

CPA26

It seems that Cathay Pacific Airlines does training flights in Hawai‘i. FlightAware.com has CPA26 listed from KOA to HNL using a Cessna 182.

Garuda's PK-GMN

PK-GMN (c/n 30146), is Garuda Indonesia's latest 737-8U3 that's making it's trans-Pacific delivery trek as GIA8011.

Sorry, no HNL photo ... though Rick Schlamp got a photo of PK-GMN during its test phase at BFI.

Hong Kong Airlines' B-KBU

HNA Group (Hainan) subsidiary, Hong Kong AIrlines has taken delivery of a new 737-84P, B-KBU (c/n 37953). It's flying as CRK8002.
