Japan Airlines Absorbs JAL Express

Japan Airlines has absorbed its domestic subsidiary, JAL Express, into the main carrier. Many of their 737-846s stopped through HNL when they made their delivery flights from BFI, during the winter months.

JAL Express' JA342J

JAL Express is taking delivery of JA342J (c/n 39191, l/n 4002), a 737-846. It arrived earlier this evening from BFI as JAL8101, and is seen above arriving on HardStand 4 on the North Ramp.

JAL Express' JA341J

JAL Express is taking delivery of JA341J (c/n 40356, l/n 3906) today. It's their second 737-846 (for JAL as a whole) in nine days. The flight left BFI yesterday, but returned about an hour into the flight. JAL8101 did not overnight at HNL, but made a late afternoon 75-minute fuel stop to continue onto MAJ.

JAL Express JA338J

One week after JA337J, another JAL Express 737-846, JA338J (c/n 40355, l/n 3609) has been delivered as JAL8102. This aircraft is all-white, except the winglets are actually painted gray.

JAL Express JA337J

The newest 737-846 for JAL Express is JA337J (c/n 40352, l/n 3604). It's bound for HND via HNL, MAJ and GUM as JAL8102. The 737-846 is all-white, as the new livery will be applied in Japan.

JAL Express JA336J

JAL Express' JA336J (c/n 40351, l/n 3543), is the latest 737-846 to join their fleet. Its flying as JAL8102, and arrived at HNL earlier this evening, and will depart tomorrow for MAJ.

JAL Express JA335J

JA335J (c/n 40354, l/n 3525), is the latest 737-846 for JAL Express, arrived from BFI on January 29 as JAL8101. The flight was supposed to come in on January 28 as JL8102, but it was pushed back one day and had the flight number changed. It then left for MAJ on January 30.

JAL Express' JA334J

JAL Express is taking delivery of JA334J (c/n 40349), a 737-846, that arrived earlier this evening from BFI as JAL8102. It's seen above climbing out from a Runway 8L departure bound for MAJ.

JAL Express' JA333J

JAL and JAL Express 737-846 deliveries have return through HNL as the winter months are upon us. JA333J (c/n 40348) is the first delivery of this winter season to stop at HNL. It arrived last evening. The delivery flight number has changed to JAL8101 as well.

JAL Express' JA328J

JAL Express has a new 737-846 bound for the "Land of the Rising Sun". JA328J (c/n 35357) is the latest 73H to join the JL fleet, and is flying as JAL7901.

JAL Express' JA327J

JAL Express' JA327J (c/n 35356), a 737-846, is making its delivery flight as JAL7901. It arrived at HNL last night from BFI, and will continue onward to HND via MAJ and GUM.

JAL Express' JA326J

JAL Express' JA326J (c/n 35355), is the 26th 737-846 for Japan Airlines (and its subsidiaries), and it's on delivery from BFI. It arrived at HNL as JL7901 this evening.

Double Dose Of JAL 737-846s

Tonight also had two delivery flights of JAL 737-846s stop at HNL. The two flights came in from BFI as JL7901 and JL7903. These are the 24th and 25th 737-846s delivered to JAL and are registered JA324J (c/n 35353) and JA325J (c/n 35354). Both also carry JAL Express titles. They are scheduled to depart for MAJ on Dec. 25 and continue to GUM and HND.

23rd 737-846 for JAL

The 23rd 738 for JAL, JA323J (c/n 35352), arrived from BFI tonight, October 16, as JL7901. It carries JAL Express titles. This aircraft will depart HNL tomorrow, October 17, for MAJ, as JL7901.

A few months ago, JAL decided to route the 738 deliveries through ANC instead of HNL. Only a couple of 738 have been delivered through ANC since the decision was made, so it was unexpected to find out that this one was coming to HNL. As for future deliveries, we'll have to see which way they are routed.

JAL Express JA319J

The 19th 737-800 for JAL arrived in HNL on April 16. JA319J, shown here parked on the North Ramp, has JAL Express titles. It is on the normal routing, BFI-HNL-MAJ-GUM-HND, and left HNL on April 17.

JAL's 18th 737-800

The 18th 737-800 for JAL arrived in HNL on March 12. JA318J is shown here parked on the North Ramp with JAL Express titles. It left HNL for MAJ today, March 13.

JAL Express' JA361J

JAL Express' newest 737-846(W), JA316J (c/n 35345), is being delivered through HNL today. This is the 16th 737-800 delivered to JAL. It will leave for MAJ tomorrow, December 24.

JAL's 13th 737-846(W), JA313J (c/n 35342), is overnighting in HNL tonight. This aircraft is wearing JAL Express titles. It will depart tomorrow, the 21st, for MAJ.

11th 737-800 for JAL

The eleventh 737-846(W) for JAL, JA311J (c/n 35340), arrived in HNL last night, April 11. This aircraft is wearing JAL Express titles. It is scheduled to leave for MAJ today, April 12. Sorry for the poor picture as I had to use the car to take a steady shot, but was parked too close to get the whole aircraft in the frame.
