Allegiant's N327NV

Allegiant Airlines' latest A319-111, N327NV (msn 2556), is making its delivery flight from HKG to TPA (vis GUM, HNL, and IWA).

This A319 was originally delivered to Cebu Pacific Airlines as RP-C3189 in September 2005. It was withdrawn from service ten years later, sold to Allegiant, and ferried to HKG for repaint and interior reconfiguration.

China Southern's B-6069

China Southern Airlines is taking delivery of B-6069 (c/n 41614, l/n 5644) today. The 737-81B is making its delivery flight from BFI as CSN8, and will overnight at HNL.

Virgin America Launches Hawai‘i Service

In their own style, Virgin America launched service between SFO and HNL today, with VRD51 making its inaugural flight that arrived to hula dancers, Virgin America flight attendants and HNL Station personnel, and local dignitaries. N281VA "Pineapple Express" [top photo], adorned with a special decal by street artist Si Scott, arrived on Runway 4R, and taxied to the South Hardstands. 

Instead of the festivities held at the gate, the airline chose to hold its inaugural arrival on HNL's South Ramp. Aboard the maiden revenue to Hawai‘i was Virgin Group Founder Sir Richard Branson [above photo], along with Virgin America CEO David Cush. Hawai‘i Governor David Ige was on-hand to greet the flight as well.

After the event was complete, the A320-214 was towed to the main terminal for its return flight to SFO as VRD50.

Virgina Australia's VH-YFV

Virgin Australia is taking delivery of VH-YFV (c/n 41030, l/n 5641) today. The 737-8FE is making its delivery flight from BFI as VOZ9940, and will overnight at LIH.

N707UW

Our November edition of "HNL RareBirds Classic" takes us back to October 2005, with N707UW (msn 949), an A319-112, as it was ferrying to China, after its lease with US Airways expired.

949 was purchased by GECAS, and leased to US Airways in January 1999, and was given the fleet number 707. It was leased to United Eagle Airlines [EU/UEA] (China) in March 2006 as B-6155, which changed its name to Chengdu Airlines in January 2010. In June 2011, this A319 was sold to AerCap. In June 2012, it was leased to Hamburg Airways [HK/HAY] (Germany) as D-AHHE. In April 2013, it was leased to TAME [EQ/TAE] (Ecuador) as HC-COF, where it presently flies.

USAF's MC-130J Commando II

A new MC-130J Commando II makes a stop over in Honolulu after making its way from Lockheed Martin's Marietta, Georgia plant. 13-5777 (c/n 5777) will jump over the Pacific to join the 17th Special Operations Squadron at Kadena Airforce Base, Japan.

China Eastern's B-7031

China Eastern Airlines is taking delivery of B-7031 (c/n 41813, l/n 5621) this morning. The 737-89P, their second within the past two days, is making its delivery flight from BFI as CES9001, and will overnight at HNL. It's also the airline's third 737NG delivery this month.

Shandong's B-6987

Shandong Airlines is taking delivery of B-6987 (c/n 41628, l/n 5637) this morning. The 737-85C is making its delivery flight from BFI as CDG6987, and will overnight at HNL.

Malindo's 9M-LNV

Malindo Air is taking delivery of 9M-LNV (c/n 39867, l/n 5635) this morning. The 737-8GP is making its delivery flight from BFI as MXD1, and will make a brief fuel stop, before continuing onto SZB.

Xiamen's B-6849

Xiamen Air is taking delivery of B-6849 (c/n 40959, l/n 5634) this morning. The 737-85C, their third delivery this month, is making its delivery flight from BFI as CXA6849, and will overnight at HNL.

China Southern's B-6068

China Southern Airlines is taking delivery of B-6068 (c/n 41614, l/n 5644) this morning. The 737-81B, leased from AerCap, is making its delivery flight from BFI as CSN168, and will overnight at HNL.

NewGen's N661AR

NewGen Airways is taking delivery of their second 737-8Q8, leased from GECAS, today. N661AR is making the delivery flight from GYR to DMK (via HNL and GUM).

Royal Air Force's ZM405

A Royal Air Force Airbus A400M Atlas C1, ZM405 (msn 24), is making a stop at HIK from OKO [Yokota Air Base, Tokyo, Japan]. It's seen above departing from Runway 8R the next morning, and was headed eastbound.

Kunming's B-6492

Kunming Airlines is taking delivery of B-6492 (c/n 44381, l/n 5627) today. The 737-8LY is making its delivery flight from BFI as KNA6492, and will overnight at HNL.

N191CR

N191CR (c/n 37593, l/n 2428), a 737-8GQ, is ferrying from KUL to PDX (via GUM and HNL), as it is being returned to AWAS.

37593 was originally purchased from PAFCO, and leased to Okay Airways in November 2007 as B-5366. In March 2010, it was acquired by AWAS, and it was leased to Malaysia Airlines as 9M-MLD two months later, and recently returned to the lessor.

Shandong's B-6988

Shandong Airlines is taking delivery of B-6988 (c/n 44925, l/n 5630) today. The 737-85N is making its delivery flight from BFI as CDG6988, and will overnight at HNL.

Xiamen's B-6819

Xiamen Air is taking delivery of B-6819 (c/n 39917, l/n 5628) this morning. The 737-85C is making its delivery flight from BFI as CXA6819, and will overnight at HNL.

China Eastern's B-6142

China Eastern Airlines is taking delivery of B-6142 (c/n 39747, l/n 5629) today. The 737-79P is making its delivery flight from BFI as CES9002, and will overnight at HNL.

Air China's B-1531

Air China is taking delivery of B-1531 (c/n 44923, l/n 5626) this morning. The 737-89L is making its delivery flight from BFI as CCA79, and will overnight at HNL.

Thomson's G-OOBF

Thomson Airways' G-OOBF (c/n 33101, l/n 1041) has made a stop at HNL from NAN, and will depart for SFB [Sanford International Airport, Orlando, FL] tomorrow. The 757-28A is flying as TOM980, with the charter flight originating from LTN [Luton Airport, London, United Kingdom], and ending in Indonesia.
