Federal Express 757 Rotations

Federal Express is rotating 757-200Fs flying inter-island cargo. N939FD "Camila" (c/n 24528, l/n 250, f/n 939) will depart for IND today as FDX9078. On 04 May, N948FD "Anissa" (c/n 25059, l/n 363, f/n 948), returned to HNL from MEM, via OAK, as FDX9077.

Federal Express' N919FD

Federal Express is ferrying N919FD "Evan" (c/n 24636, l/n 259, f/n 919) from MEM to HNL, via OAK, as FDX9075. It will join the other 757-200Fs in the inter-island cargo service.

Federal Express' N914FD

Federal Express is adding a fourth 757-200F for their inter-island operations. N914FD "Bella" (c/n 24367, l/n 208, f/n 914), 757-28AF, is ferrying from MEM, via GJT [Grand junction Regional Airport, Grand Junction, CO], as FDX9075.

Nov 1997: Acquired by MSAF, and the lease transferred.

Dec 1998: Leased to Flying Colours as G-FCLG.

Apr 2000: Acquired by AWAS, and the lease transferred

Federal Express Launches 757 Inter-island Flights

As we have reported since this past July, three Federal Express 757-200Fs have been in the islands. One at HNL, another at OGG, and another at ITO undergoing ground training. From today, FedEx is launching Monday-to-Friday inter-island flights out of HNL to OGG, and to ITO.

HNL-ITO: FDX1005 and FDX 1007 // ITO-HNL: FDX1006 and FDX1008
HNL-OGG: FDX1001 and FDX1003 // OGG-HNL: FDX1002 and FDX1004

In a related note, the Corporate Air-operated C408Fs have been flying exclusively between HNL and LIH, while their C208s have been serving the smaller airports like JHM, MKK and LNY.

Federal Express' N968FD

Federal Express is ferrying another 757-200F to HNL from OAK. N968FD "Wesley" (c/n 26274, l/n 676, f/n 968), a 757-28AF, arrived from OAK this morning as FDX9076.

26274's History:
Jun 1995: Delivered to Transaero as EI-CLU, under lease from ILFC.
Jan 1998: Re-registered as N751LF.
Feb 1999: Leased to Flying Colours as G-FLCH.
Mar 2000: Leased transferred to JMC Air, following the merger between Flying Colours and Caledonian Airways.
Mar 2003: Lease transferred to Thomas Cook Airlines, following the rebranding.
Apr 2013: Acquired by Federal Express, converted to a freighter, re-registered as N968FD, and named "Tatytem".
Aug 2024: Re-named "Wesley".

Federal Express' N939FD

Federal Express has ferried N939FD "Camila" (c/n 24528, l/n 250, f/n 939) from LAX to ITO, as FDX9075. This 757-23AF arrived this morning, and will be used for ground training at ITO.

Jly 2001: Leased to British World Airlines as G-OBWS.
May 2002: Leased to MyTravel Airways as G-CCMY.
Oct 2003: Leased to Kampuchea Airlines as XU-123.
Dec 2003: Subleased to One-Two-Go as XU-123 (top photo).
  Seen at HNL on its way to join the Omni Air fleet.
Aug 2004: Acquired by Omni Air International as N549AX (above photo).
  While with Omni, it was one of the airliners chartered by Vacations Hawai‘i for their LAS flights.
Dec 2010: Acquired by Federal Express, and 
May 2011: Ferried to QPG for freighter conversion.

Federal Express' N948FD

Federal Express has flown in N948FD "Anissa" (c/n 25059, l/n 363, f/n 948) for an ETOPS certification flight and ground training today. This 757-236F flew in from MEM, via OAK, as FDX9075.

Apr 1991: delivered to British Airways as G-BPED "Blair Castle".
Jun 1997: Painted with the "Kogutki Lowickie" tail livery.
Jan 2004: Repainted in the current livery.
Sep 2009: Withdrawn from service, and stored at LHR.
Jun 2010: Ferried to LGW for storage.
Aug 2010: Purchased by Federal Express as N948FD, and ferried to VCV for storage.
Dec 2010: Ferried to XSP for freighter conversion.
Jun 2011: Named "Anissa", and inducted into service.

Icelandair's TF-LLL

Icelandair's National Geographic-liveried 757-256, TF-LLL “Þríhnúkagígur” (c/n 29307, l/n 924), is making a stop at HNL as ICE1274 from IAD, via PDX.

TF-LLL was last here in March 2023.

Honeywell International's N757HW

Honeywell International's 757-225 test airliner, N757HW (c/n 22194, l/n 5), is making a stop at JRF from PHX this afternoon, as HNW757. It's wearing the new livery with the #futureshaper titles on the tail. N757HW is heading for AVV [Avalon Airport, Melbourne, Australia], for the Avalon Airshow.

We've managed to catch N757HW at HNL a few times over the past several years.

N757HW departed JRF for NAN this morning.

N757HW arrived from NAN this afternoon, and will return to PHX tomorrow morning.

Asia Pacific Airlines' N193AN Enters Service

After sitting since its arrival to HNL this past November, Asia Pacific Airlines' 757-223F, N193AN (c/n 32387, l/n 981), entered service this morning, with a flight to GUM as AJT96. This 757 is wet-subleased from AmeriJet, and is flying with the AmeriJet's flight code.

Elan Express' 757-23A, N757CJ (c/n 24923, l/n 332), is making a brief fuel stop at HNL as it transits from YYZ to MEL, via HNL and NAN. This VIP-configured 757, flying as ELX25, is owned by Cargojet Airways (Canada), and operated for hip-hop artist Drake.

May 1991: Delivered to AWAS, then sold to Freeport McMoran as N680EM, and re-registered as N680FM three months later.
Apr 1997: Acquired by Vulcan Northwest Flight Operations, and re-registered as N756AF four months later.
Aug 2007: Acquired by Google as N1757.
Jly 2014: Acquired by Jet Development Inc as VQ-BTF.
Dec 2018: Sold to Cargojet Airways for use by Drake, and to be operated by Elan Express as N757CJ.

RNZAF Seeks 757 Replacement

CH-Aviation.com reports that the New Zealand Ministry of Defence has tendered a request for proposal to replace its two Royal New Zealand Air Force 757-2K2Cs, NZ7571 (c/n 26633, l/n 519) and NZ7572 (c/n 26634, l/n 545), as they both are over 31 years old. The RNZAF is looking at the 737-8 or the A321-200N, with available, off-the-shelf models.

Both RNZAF 757s are frequent visitors to HNL, and can be seen parked around the south ramp during their visits.

Asia Pacific Airlines' N193AN

Asia Pacific Airlines is taking delivery of N193AN (c/n 32387, l/n 981) today. This 757-223F, is delivering from LAL to HNL, via PHX, under lease from Titan Aviation Holdings. It's being flown with an Amerijet flight code, AJT96.

This is Asia Pacific's sixth 757-200F, and the first powered by Rolls-Royce RB211s. The other five are powered by Pratt & Whitney PW2040s.

32387's History:
Nov 2001: Delivered to American Airlines as N193AN (f/n 5FC).
Sep 2016: Painted in the current livery.
Mar 2020: Withdrawn from service, and stored at ROW.
Jly 2021: Sold to AerSale, and ferried to GYR for freighter conversion.
Mar 2022: Leased to Amerijet.
Jun 2022: Sold to Titan Aviation Holdings, and the lease transferred.
Jan 2024: Withdrawn from service, and stored at LAL.

Icelandair's TF-FIC

Icelandair's TF-FIC (c/n 30735, l/n 91) is making a brief fuel stop at HNL tonight from PPT as ICE1432. This 757-23N, wearing the Abercrombie & Kent special livery, will continue onto LAX, as part of a global charter flight. TF-FIC has been here before in the Abercrombie & Kent livery, while on other exclusive tours.

Nomadic Aviation is ferrying N195AN (c/n 32389, l/n 984) from XMN to GYR, via GUM and JRF. This white-tail 757-223F, owned by AerSale, is flying as OMD211, will make a brief fuel stop at JRF this evening.

N195AN stopped through JRF on its way for freighter conversion in August 2023.

N175AN

N175AN (c/n 32394, l/n 992), a 757-223F owned by AerSale, is being ferried from XMN to GYR, via GUM and HNL. It's being ferried by Nomadic Aviation as OMD219. This white-tail 757 completed its freighter conversion at XMN, after being ferried there last May. Its JRF stop tonight will be a brief fuel stop.

N194AA

Nomadic Aviation is ferrying N194AA (c/n 32388, l/n 983) from XMN to GYR, via GUM and JRF, as OMD311. This white-tail 757-223F, owned by AerSale, completed freighter conversion, and being readied for its next lessee. N194AA stopped through JRF in March 2023 en route to freighter conversion.

FarCargo's N185AN

Nomadic Aviation is ferrying N185AN (c/n 32379, l/n 962) for AerSale as OMD280. This 757-223F is flying from XMN to ROW, via  GUM and JRF.  It arrived at JRF this morning from GUM, with a day-long stopover. N185AN stopped through HNL in January 2023 as it was ferried to XMN for freighter conversion.

It's due to be leased to FarCargo [Faroe Islands] as OY-RLE "Eysturoy", and is the new cargo carrier's first aircraft. It will undergo further prep at ROW, before it's delivered to FarCargo.

N195AN

Nomadic Aviation is ferrying N195AN (c/n 38389, l/n 984) from ROW to XMN, via JRF and GUM for freighter conversion. This 757-223 is flying as OMD278, and will make an overnight stop at JRF.

Nov 2001: Delivered to American Airlines (f/n 5FE).
Aug 2015: Painted in the current livery.
Mar 2020: Withdrawn from service, and stored at TUL, then ROW the month after.
Jun 2023: Acquired by AerSale.

Nomadic Aviation is ferrying N175AN (c/n 32394, l/n 992) from ROW to XMN, via JRF and GUM, as OMD199. This 757-223, owned by AerSale Inc, is headed for freighter conversion. It will make a gas & go fuel stop at JRF this evening.

Dec 2001: Delivered to American Airlines (f/n 5FK).
Jun 2015: Painted in the current livery.
Mar 2020: Withdrawn from service, and stored at ROW.
Apr 2023: Sold to the AAR Corporation, then sold to AerSale a month later.
