California Golden Bears Hawai‘i Bowl Charter

The California Golden Bears football team are chartering an Omni Air International 767-300ER for their appearance in the Sheraton Hawai‘i Bowl against the Hawai‘i Rainbow Warriors, on Christmas Eve. N468AX (c/n 30115, l/n 863, f/n 468), a 767-36NER, is flying the Golden Bears as OAE3890 from OAK, arriving early tomorrow morning. N468AX will return to service to SEA as OAE271 after dropping off the Golden Bears.


23 December 2023 UPDATE
N468AX is returning to HNL from SEA as OAE323, and will wait to take the Golden Bears following the game.

24 December 2025 UPDATE
The Golden Bears are returning to OAK as OAE3890 after their last-minute 35-31 loss to the Rainbow Warriors.

The Hawai‘i Bowl Team Charters

The two teams participating in the 2024 edition of The Hawai‘i Bowl are the University of South Florida Bulls from the American Athletic Conference (Tampa, FL) and the San José State Spartans from the Mountain West Conference (San José, CA). Both teams will be arriving by their respective team charter flights.

The game is scheduled to be played at the Clarence TC Ching Field on the campus of the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa, on 24 December, at 15:00HAST. Both teams will return to their respective cities following the game.


Bulls Charter Flight from TPA to HNL (18 Dec 2024):
American Airlines 777-223ER N759AN (c/n 32836, l/n 376, f/n 7BU) as AAL9735 [Team].
Omni Air International 767-36NER N468AN (c/n 30115, l/n 863) as OAE2851 [Band & Cheer].
 It ferried to ITO for the duration of bowl week.

Spartans Charter Flight from SJC (19 Dec 2024):
Omni Air International 777-2U8ER N819AX (c/n 33681, l/n 479) as OAE2859.


24 December 2024 UPDATE
The Bulls are returning to TPA on American Airlines' 777-223ER, N759AN, as AAL9841, following their five overtime 41-39 win. Omni's N468AX will take back the USF band and cheerleaders back to TPA as OAE2868.

The Spartans are returning to SJC on Omni Air International's 777-2U8ER, N828AX (c/n 33682, l/n 514) as OAE2864.

Hawai‘i Bowl Team Charters

The 2023 edition of the Easypost Hawai‘i Bowl features the matchup of the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers, from the Sun Belt Conference (Conway, South Carolina) and the San José State Spartans, from the Mountain West Conference (San José, California). Both teams are arriving today via Omni Air International from their respective cities.

The game is scheduled for Saturday, 23 Dec 2023, 17:30HAST, at the Clarence TC Ching Field, on the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa campus. Both teams will return following the bowl game, with both aircraft will stay to the teams home.

Chanticleers Charter Flight:
Omni Air International 777-2U8ER N819AX (c/n 33681, l/n 479), from MYR to HNL as OAE1639.

Spartans Charter Flight:
Omni Air International 767-36NER N468AX (c/n 30115, l/n 863), from SJC to HNL as OAE1644.

The Chanticleers held off a late Spartans rally to take the Easypost Hawai‘i Bowl trophy with a 24-14 win.

The return flights are OAE1651: HNL-MYR; and OAE1650: HNL-SJC.

Hawai‘i Bowl Team Charters

This year's EasyPost Hawai‘i Bowl features the Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders against the San Diego State Aztecs. They will play on 3:00P Christmas Eve at Ching Field (University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa). Omni Air International 767-300s are brought in the teams from their respective cities this afternoon.

The Aztecs arrived first from SAN aboard N378AX (c/n 28147, l/n 611), a 767-33AER, as OAE208.

The Blue Raiders arrived two hours later aboard N351AX (c/n 27908, l/n 578), a 767-33AER, as OAE182 from BNA.


24 Dec 2022 UPDATE
Middle Tennessee pulled off a fourth quarter comeback to beat San Diego State, 25-23. Both teams will return home following the game via Omni Air International. The Aztecs will return to SAN as OAE231 aboard N378AX. The Blue Raiders will return to BNA as OAE207 aboard N351AX.

Memphis Tigers Team Charter

The University of Memphis Tigers football team chartered an Omni Air International 767-33AER, N351AX (c/n 27908, l/n 578, f/n 351) for their trip to HNL, to play the University of Hawai‘i Rainbow Warriors, in the EasyPost Hawai‘i Bowl on December 24th. The Tigers arrived from MEM as OAE8614. This 767-33AER will not stay at HNL, but departed for AFW (with the same flight number) shortly after arrival.

27908's History:
Aug 1995: Delivered to Alitalia as G-OITF, under lease from AWAS.
Nov 1996: Re-registered as I-DEIF "Cristoforo Colombo".
Aug 2009: Leased to Omni Air International as N351AX.
Sep 2019: Acquired by CAM, and lease transferred.


24 Dec 2021 UPDATE
N351AX returned to HNL to take the Memphis Tigers back to MEM tonight as OAE8623.

Middle Tennessee Team Charter

The Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders football team has chartered an Atlas Air 767-300ER to make its trip from BNA to HNL, as the team will play the Hawai‘i Rainbow Warriors in the Hawai‘i Bowl on Saturday, December 24th. N661GT (c/n 30110, l/n 775), a 767-36NER, is flying as GTI8645. The team will return to BNA following the game, as GTI8646.

Hawaiʻi Bowl Team Charters

The 2015 Hawaiʻi Bowl features the San Diego State University Aztecs (Mountain West Conference) against the University of Cincinnati Bearcats (American Athletic Conference). Both teams arrived today from their respective cities.

The Aztecs chartered a Hawaiian Airlines 767-3CBER, N592HA "Hunakai" (c/n 33648, l/n 898), as HAL715, direct from SAN.

The Bearcats chartered an Atlas Air 767-3S1ER, N640GT, as GTI8797, which flew non-stop from CVG.

Both teams are expected to return home after the game. The Bearcats returned to CVG as GTI8800 on N640GT; and the Aztecs returned to SAN as HAL716 on N590HA.

Hawai‘i Bowl Team Charters

Both the Fresno State Bulldogs and the Rice Owls are using Omni Air International as their team charters for this year's Hawai‘i Bowl, on December 24th, at Hawaiian Airlines Field at Aloha Stadium. The Bulldogs arrive this afternoon on OAE890 (a 767-300ER) from FAT. The Owls arrive this evening aboard OAE882 (a 777-200) from IAH. Both teams will depart following the game, with the flights using the same respective flight numbers.

Sheraton Hawai‘i Bowl Charters

This year's Sheraton Hawai‘i Bowl features the Boise State Broncos against the Oregon State Beavers. The collegiate football game will be played on Christmas Eve, at 1500HST, at Hawaiian Airlines Field at Aloha Stadium.

The Broncos arrive this afternoon from BOI on an Omni Air International 767-300 team charter, OAE208.

The Beavers also arrive this afternoon from PDX on an Atlas Air 767-300 team charter, GTI8071.

Sheraton Hawai‘i Bowl Team Charters

Atlas Air and Omni Air International are bringing in the teams participating for the Sheraton Hawai‘i Bowl, the annual Christmas Eve college football bowl game here in Honolulu. Atlas is flying in the Southern Methodist University Mustangs (SMU) from DFW as GTI2522, in one of their 767-300ERs. Omni is flying in the Fresno State University Bulldogs from FAT as OAE960, in one of their 767-300ERs as well. Both teams are expected to make their return flights after the game.

Tulsa Charters Ryan Int'l For Hawai‘i Bowl

The Tulsa University Golden Hurricane football team has chartered a Ryan International 767-300ER to make the trip to HNL to play in the Sheraton Hawai‘i Bowl on Christmas Eve, December 24th, at Aloha Stadium.  The flight, RYN6945, is scheduled to arrive later today from TUL.

NWA Brings Fighting Irish To HNL

Northwest Airlines brought the Notre Dame University Fighting Irish football team to Honolulu for the Sheraton Hawai‘i Bowl that will be played on Christmas Eve at Aloha Stadium, and aired on ESPN (20:00EST). The Fighting Irish will be facing the University of Hawai‘i Warriors, who will be the visiting team yet playing on their home field.

NWA9971, a 747-400, left SBN (South Bend, IN) last night at 19:19EST, and flew to LAX for a two-hour fuel stop, before arriving at HNL this morning at 00:51HST.
