N4053L

Coulson Aviation is taking delivery of N4053L (msn 382-4053). This former Royal New Zealand Air Force C-130H is being ferried from BHE to TRM, via AKL, PPG, and KOA. It's making an overnight stop at KOA tonight. This is the second of four ex-RNZAF C-130Hs that Coulson acquired to become aerial firefighters.

382-4053's History:

Apr 1965: Built as 64-15095, and delivered to the RNZAF's 40 Squadron as NZ7002.

Jan 2025: Withdrawn from service, and officially retired from service.

Apr 2025: Sold to Coulson Aviation USA.

N4313L

N4313L (msn 382-4313), a former Royal New Zealand Air Force C-130H, has been acquired by Coulson Aviation USA, and is being ferried from BHE [Woodburne Airport, Blenheim, New Zealand] to TRM, via AKL, PPG, and JRF. It's making an overnight stop at JRF tonight.

This is the first of four former RNZAF C-130Hs that Coulson Aviation USA bought from the New Zealand Defence Force. The fleet of five C-130Hs of 40 Squadron was retired in January, and the four were sold in April. The first RNZAF C-130H, NZ7001 (msn 382-4052) was donated to the Air Force Museum at Wigram, NZ.

382-4313's History:

Dec 1968: Built as 68-8219, and delivered to the RNZAF's 40 Squadron as NZ7005.

Jan 2025: Withdrawn from service, officially retired from service, and stored at BHE.

Apr 2025: Sold to Coulson Aviation USA.

RNZAF Seeks 757 Replacement

CH-Aviation.com reports that the New Zealand Ministry of Defence has tendered a request for proposal to replace its two Royal New Zealand Air Force 757-2K2Cs, NZ7571 (c/n 26633, l/n 519) and NZ7572 (c/n 26634, l/n 545), as they both are over 31 years old. The RNZAF is looking at the 737-8 or the A321-200N, with available, off-the-shelf models.

Both RNZAF 757s are frequent visitors to HNL, and can be seen parked around the south ramp during their visits.

Royal New Zealand Air Force's NZ7014

The Royal New Zealand Air Force is taking delivery of their fourth C-130J-30, NZ7014 (msn 5990). This new Super Hercules, flying as KIW784, departed MGE yesterday for SUU, and will make two-day stop at HIK, before continuing onto PPG then MHB.

Royal New Zealand Air Force's NZ7012 & NZ7013

The Royal New Zealand Air Force's No. 40 Squadron is taking delivery of two C-130J-30s, as they both make their way from MGE to MHB, via SUU, HNL, and APW. Both Super Hercules will overnight at HIK.

NZ7012 (msn 382-5986) is flying as KIW926.

NZ7013 (msn 382-5988) is flying as KIW939.

Royal New Zealand Air Force's NZ7011

The Royal New Zealand Air Force is taking delivery of their first C-130J, NZ7011 (msn 382-5978). This C-130J-30 Super Hercules is making its delivery flight from MGE to MHB [RNZAF Base Auckland Whenuapai], via LRF [Little Rock AFB, Jacksonville, AR], SUU, HIK, and APW, as KIW843.

NZ7011 is the first of five C-130Js will be assigned to No 40 Squadron "Ki Nga Hau e Wha (Maori for To the Four Winds)". They are to replace the current, aging C-130Hs.

Royal New Zealand Air Force’s NZ4804

The Royal New Zealand Air Force’s No 5 Squadron is taking delivery of NZ4804 (c/n 67020, l/n 9601) today. This P-8A, their fourth, is making its delivery flight from BFI to OHA, via HNL and NAN, as POSIDN1.

The Royal New Zealand Air Force's No. 5 Squadron is taking delivery of their third P-8A Poseidon, NZ4803 (c/n 67019, l/n 9565). It's making its delivery flight from BFI to OHA, via HNL and NAN, as POSIDN1.

The Royal New Zealand Air Force is taking delivery of their second P-8A, NZ4802 (c/n 67018, l/n 9488) today. It’s making its delivery flight from BFI to OHA, via HNL and NAN, as POSIDN1. It will be assigned to No. 5 Squadron.

RNZAF's NZ4801

NZ4801 (c/n 67017, l/n 9449) is the Royal New Zealand Air Force's first Boeing P-8A Poseidon, and is making its delivery flight from BFI to OHA, via HNL and NAN, as POSIDN1. This P-8A, the first of four, will be assigned to No. 5 Squadron, and these Poseidons will replace the current P-3K Orions.

RNZAF C-130H

A C-130H of the Royal New Zealand Air Force has been stuck in Hawaii for the past few days due to a mechanical issue in its #1 engine. NZ7001 (c/n 382-4052) is seen above in the mid-afternoon sun on the South Ramp.

RNZAF's 75th Anniversary NZ7571

The Royal New Zealand Air Force is celebrating its 75th Anniversary, and their 757-2K2, NZ7571 (c/n 26633, l/n 519) has markings on the fuselage and tail to note the event. It seen in the top photo, on HNL's South Ramp, and is probably here to support Royal New Zealand Armed Forces units participating in the 2012 RIMPAC exercise. In the above photo, is the 75th Anniversary logo applied on the tail of NZ7571.

One of the two Royal New Zealand Air Force's 757-2K2s, NZ7572 (c/n 26634, l/n 545), is paying a visit to HNL, with a contingent of Royal New Zealand Armed Forces.

NZ7571 of the Royal New Zealand Air Force made a stop HNL today, and dropped off some Royal New Zealand Army troops for joint-force exercises.

RNZAF 757's

Both RNZAF 757's were at HNL today and parked by the CO hangar. NZ7571 was the first to leave, around 9:18am, while NZ7572 stayed a couple hours longer.
