Airwork's N225NZ

Airwork is ferrying N225NZ (c/n 25297, l/n 432) from AKL to GYR, via BNE, NAN, and HNL, for repainting into its livery. This 757-223F is flying as AWK2, and had been in storage since last December.

25297's History:

Mar 1992: Delivered to American Airlines as N663AM (f/n 5CL).

Oct 2014: Withdrawn from service, and ferried to ROW for storage.

May 2017: Acquired by the Texas Aviation Group.

Oct 2018: Ferried to GYR for freighter conversion.

Jly 2020: Purchased by Olympus Airways as SX-APX.

Dec 2021: Withdrawn from service, and ferried to AKL for storage.

N902NZ

Airwork NZ is taking delivery of a 737-4D7F, N902NZ (c/n 28702, l/n 2978). It's flying from MIA to AKL, via MCC, HNL and PPG as JTN250.

28702 was originally delivered to Thai Airways International in January 1998 as HS-TDL "Srikarn", and flew with Thai until August 2008. Less than a year later, in June 2009, it was acquired by Tatarstan Air as VQ-BDB, and flew until November 2013, where it was stored at SAW. In June 2014, it was bought by Blue Air as YR-BAQ, and flew until October 2018. A month later it was acquired by Airwork NZ, and stored at ROW as it awaited freighter conversion, which began this past February at MIA.

N971NZ

N971NZ (c/n 25371, l/n 2196), a 737-4Q8F, is ferrying from Dothan, AL [DHN] to Auckland, New Zealand [AKL], via ONT, JRF, and PPG. It's being leased to Airwork NZ from AWAS, and is being ferried by Jet Test and Transport as JTN8120. The registration will be changed to ZK-PAU, after it arrives in New Zealand.

25371 was originally built for ILFC, and delivered to Cayman Airways in January 1992 as VR-CAA. In July 1993, it was leased to Carnival Airlines as N404KW. In May 1998, it was leased to Olympic Airways as SX-BKK, with a hybrid livery. In 2001, it was painted in the full Olympic livery. When Olympic re-branded as Olympic Airlines in 2003, SX-BKK was transferred over. In April 2006, it was leased to Sky Airlines [ZY/SHY] (Turkey) as TC-SKG "Gold", and painted in a special gold livery. In July 2013, it was sold to Ansett Worldwide (AWAS), and leased to Blue Air [0B/BMS] (Romania) as YR-BAR. It was returned to AWAS in December 2017, and ferried to DHN for freighter conversion.

N962NZ

N962NZ (c/n 25362, l/n 2164), a 737-484F, is making its delivery flight to Toll Airwork, is stopping through JRF from DHN (via ONT). It will continue onto PPG tomorrow.

25362 was originally delivered to Olympic Airways [OA/OAL] (Greece) in October 1991 as SX-BKD "Amphipoli". In December 2003, Olympic Airways re-branded as Olympic Airlines, after it emerged from bankruptcy. SX-BXD was transferred, and painted into a special livery for the 2004 Olympic Games that the city of Athens hosted. In 2006, it was painted into Olympic's "Euro-White" livery. SX-BXD was withdrawn from service in September 2009, and sold to AerSale as N362AS. After being in storage for a couple of years, 25362 was leased to Med-View Airlines [VL/MEV] (Nigeria) in August 2012 as 5N-BPA, and returned to AerSale in June 2015. After its return to AerSale, it was ferried to DHN for freighter conversion, and sale to Toll Airwork.

N943NZ

N943NZ (c/n 24443, l/n 2398), a 737-476 for Toll Airwork [HT/PST] (New Zealand), is making its way from DHN to AKL (via OAK, HNL, and APW).

24443 was originally delivered to Australian Airlines in November 1992 as VH-TJR. After the merger with Qantas in 1993, it was transferred to the latter's fleet that October, and named "Cockatiel". It was withdrawn from the Qantas fleet in October 2013, and ferried to VCV two months later. It was ferried to DHN for freighter conversion in May 2015.

N934NZ

Toll Airwork is taking delivery of N934NZ (c/n 24434, l/n 1912), a 737-476F. It's traveling from DHN to BNE, via OAK, HNL, and PPG.

24434 was originally delivered to Australian Airlines in September 1990 as VH-TJI. It was leased to Malaysian Airlines as 9M-MLD in October 1990, for two years. It was also leased to Air Vanuatu from November 1992 to March 1998. A month later, it joined the Qantas fleet, and named "Cloncurry". It flew for Qantas until February 2014, and was ferried to VCV. After it was converted to a freighter at DHN late last year, it was sold to Toll Airwork.

N944NZ

N944NZ (c/n 24444, l/n 2454), a 737-476F, is making its delivery flight to AKL from DHN (via OAK, HNL, and PPG), to join the Toll Airwork fleet.

24444 was originally delivered to Australian Airlines in May 1993 as VH-TJS. When Qantas Airways acquired Australian Airlines, VH-TJS was transferred into the QFA fleet, and was named "Jabiru". It was ferried to VCV for storage in March 2014.

N232AG

N232AG (c/n 24432, l/n 1879), a 737-476, is ferrying from DHN to BNE, via OAK, JRF, MAJ, and CNS. It's going to join the Toll Airwork fleet as ZK-TLJ, as indicated on the nose gear door.

24432 was originally delivered to Australian Airlines in June 1990 as VH-TJG. Three months later, it was leased to Malaysian Airlines as 9M-MLE for one year. In October 1993, it was transferred to the Qantas Airways fleet with the same registration, and named "Eagle". It was withdrawn from service in November 2012, and stored at VCV a month later. It was acquired by Aero Acquisitions in January 2014.

Toll Priority's ZK-JTQ

Aero Pacific Flightlines reports that Toll Priority is taking delivery of ZK-JTQ (c/n 24442, l/n 2371) through KOA via LGB today.

Kuban's ZK-TLB

ZK-TLB (c/n 26310, l/n 2680), a 737-3Q8 owned by ILFC, is making its way to New Zealand, where it will join the Toll Airwork fleet. It's still wearing the livery of its last lessee, Kuban Airlines [GW/KIL] (Russia). The flight originated from GYR, but not sure if it made a stop in California, before flying to HNL. ZK-TLB is seen above, on Taxiway RT, as it prepares to depart for APW, then AKL.

26310 was originally leased to Continental Airlines as N14381, and delivered in January 1995. Its next lessee was KLM's UK off-shoot, Buzz [UK/UKA] (United Kingdom) as G-BZZE in December 2002. It was transferred to Ryanair [FR/RYR] (Ireland) in April 2003, after Ryanair acquired Buzz, and remained in the Buzz livery. As Ryanair replaced older 737s with 737NGs, G-BZZE was returned to ILFC. In December 2004, the UK's bmibaby [WW/BMI] leased it as G-TOYA until 2010. Russia's Kuban Airlines leased it in May 2010 as VQ-BHB, until the airline ceased operations in February 2012.

N709AG

N709AG (c/n 24709, l/n 2115), a 737-4Q8 owned by ACG Acquisitions, is ferrying through HNL from MIA, via SBD. It's bound for New Zealand's Airwork/Toll Priority. It left for APW early this morning.

According to MRC Aviation, it will be registered as ZK-TLF.

24709 was originally delivered delivered to ILFC, and leased to Malaysia Airlines as 9M-MJG in September 1991. Carnival Airlines acquired the 737-4Q8 in July 1994, and was registered as N604KW. When the airline was merged with Pan American Airways, N604KW went with it, and was named "Clipper Splendid". In July 1998, ILFC leased 24709 to Olympic Airways as SX-BKM. The Greek carrier bought the 737 from ILFC in December 2003, and received the 2007 livery. ACG Acquisitions purchased it in August 2009, and was placed in storage at VCV. Only recently was it ferried to MIA, via RSW, for preparation for ACG's next lessee, Toll Priority. We've been told by sources that this 737-4Q8 has been converted to a freighter.

N709AG was originally scheduled for delivery from December 20th, but was delayed until after the holiday season.

Airwork's N919GF

Airwork / Toll Priority (HT/PST) is receiving another 737-300SF. This one, N919GF (c/n 24834, l/n 1896), a 737-3S1SF, is being leased from Aurora Leasing (San Antonio, TX). It's New Zealand registry will be ZK-TLE. The flight originated in MIA and made a stop at LGB before crossing the Pacific.

24834 was originally delivered TACA International Airlines (TA/TAI) as N371TA, under lease from FSBU, in July 1990. It was then sub-leased to Freedom Air International [New Zealand] (SJ/FOM) in April 1996, for one year. After its return to TAI, it was sub-leased to VARIG (RG/VRN) as PP-VPF in August 1997. The leasing company ACAP acquired 24834, and was leased to Hemus Air as LZ-HVB in June 2006. Under the same tail number, it was transferred to Bulgaria Air in May 2007. Aurora Leasing bought 24834 in December 2010, re-registered it as N919GF, and converted it to a freighter at MIA.

N919GF is seen above about to land on a rain-drenched Runway 4R arriving from LGB.

ex-US Airways N527AU

An ex-US Airways 737-3B7, N527AU (c/n 23862, l/n 1586), is making its way westward from MIA (via LGB, HNL & APW) to AKL, and being delivered to Airwork / Toll Priority (HT/PST) of New Zealand. It will be re-registered as ZK-FXT.

23862 was originally delivered to US Air as N396AU in August 1998. It was re-registered to the current N527AU three months later, and was retired from the US Airways fleet, and stored at MHV in August 2009.

It's now owned by the Aurora Leasing Group of San Antonio, TX. In November 2010, N527AU was ferried to MIA for freighter conversion to become a -3B7SF by Aeronautical Engineers Inc.

N527AU is seen above on HNL's South Ramp, being readied for departure. However, after re-fueling and two walk-arounds with the APU running, the crew shut the aircraft down, and delayed its next leg to APW. It also appears that it will receive its final livery when it arrives in New Zealand.

Toll Priority's N519AU

Leading off today's HNL RareBird hat trick, is Toll Priority's (Airwork New Zealand) third 737-3B7F, N519AU (c/n 23705). It was originally delivered to US Airways in 1988. It was recently converted into a pure freighter for Toll Priority, and will be re-registered as ZK-TLC when it arrives in New Zealand in a few days. N519AU flew from MIA to HNL via LGB, and seen above in the late afternoon sun. It will continue onto PPG tomorrow, as its next stop on its delivery flight.

Toll Holdings 737-300F

ZK-TLA (cn23383) seen here on the south ramp. This 737 is now currently leased to Toll Holdings to fly cargo in contract with Virgin Air. ZK-TLA's previous owner was USAir. Opperating under N377AU and N508AU. It was then transfered in to the hands of Wells Fargo Bank Northwest. According to Australian Aviation Magazine, this is the first of two 737's for Toll. Expect to see ZK-TLB, another 737-300 in the near future.
