Mokulele Airlines' N496SA

Mokulele Airlines is taking delivery of N496SA (msn 208B5943) today. This all-dark blue C208B Grand Caravan is making its delivery flight from MCE to HNL as FDY8021.

This C208B was delivered to Southern Air Express last month.

Southern Airways Express Fined For FAA Violations

In two separate rulings, the Federal Aviation Administration has levied a $50,000 fine and another $263,750 fine against Southern Airways Express (Mokulele Airlines' sister-airline) for safety violations. The first fine was assessed for a weight and balanced incident in June 2024, that resulted in a tail-strike as the Cessna C208B Caravan was pushed back. The second fine was assessed for a faulty auto-pilot that lasted through 29 flights in April 2025, before the issue was addressed.

Both FAA news releases did not specify the location for the incidents and aircrafts involved. Southern Airways Express has 30 days to respond to these notices.

The Caravan above is wearing Southern's base livery, that was transferred to Mokulele last year.

Southern Airways Express' N539SA

Southern Airways Express is ferrying N539SA (msn 208B5822) from IPL to HNL, via MCE. This C208B Grand Caravan is making its ferry flight as FDY8031. It will join the Mokulele Airlines operation.

N539SA's History:
Nov 2024: Delivered to Southern Airways Express to operate for Surf Air.
Dec 2024: Inducted into service on Southern's northeast operations.
Aug 2025: Transferred to Southern's mid-south operations.
Sep 2025: Transferred to Southern's Southern California / Arizona operations.

Southern Airways Express' N932SP

Southern Airways Express has transferred N932SP (msn 208B5177) from its regional Texas operation to Mokulele Airlines. This C208B Grand Caravan made its ferry flight from MEM to HNL, with stops as TXK, LBB, LRU, IPL, and MCE. Its last leg flew as FDY8072 last night, and seen above having its seats about to be installed.

N208EE

Southern Airways Express ferried in N208EE (msn 208B1213) from STL to KOA, via DFW, ELP, PHX, LAX, MCE, and HNL. This C208B arrived at HNL this afternoon.

208B1213's History:
Oct 2006: Delivered to Edward Evans as N208EE.
Feb 2011: Sold to Gogal Air Services as C-GAGP.
Jly 2014: Sold to Aircraft Structures International as N208EE.
Jan 2015: Sold to Air Choice One as N208EE.
__ 2019: Painted in the new Air Choice One livery.
Apr 2022: Air Choice One acquired by Southern Airways Express, and transferred.


15 July 2025 UPDATE 
N208EE departed for KOA this morning as FDY8043.

N208EE was inducted into service today.

Mokulele Airlines' N522SA

Southern Airways has allocated N522SA (msn 208B5819) to Mokulele Airlines, and had it ferried from MCE to HNL as FDY8055. This all-midnight blue Grand Caravan EX was formerly with Southern Airways' upper east coast operations based out of IAD. N522SA was delivered to Southern Airways in November 2024.

Southern Airways' N95SA

Southern Airways is ferrying N95SA "The Phil LeFevre" (msn 340B-345) from HNL to SGF, via CNO as  FDY211. This Saab 340B has not flown since February 2024. It's seen above, shortly after its delivery flight wearing its previous registration.

Southern Airways' N79SA

Southern Airways is ferrying N79SA "The Phil Trenary" (msn 340B-334) from HNL to SGF [Springfield Airport, Springfield, MO], via CNO [Chino Airport, Chino, CA], as FDY205. This Saab 340B has been out of service since July 2024.

Southern Airways To Ferry P2012s

Southern Airways Express is having two of the three P2012s from HNL to VGT, then eventually make their way to MQY [Smyrna Airport, Smyrna, TN] later in the month. Both N401CJ (msn 049/US) and N503SA (msn 041/UA) are flying from HNL to VGT, via OGG, and MOD, to make their TransPacific crossings.

Southern Airways N592SA

Southern Airways Express moved N592SA (msn 208B2066) from KOA to HNL for preparations to be put into service. It's unknown how much of a livery will be added. There is small Southern Airways decal at the passenger entry door.

Southern Airways Express Ferries Its 3 P2012s To HNL

Southern Airways is having its three Tecnam P2012 Travelers from GUM, where that had been in storage since the shutdown of the Marianas Southern Air venture in April 2023. N401CJ (msn 049/US), N503SA (msn 041/US), and N504SA (msn 048/US) all departed GUM for MAJ on 21 Nov 2023.

 N401CJ and N504SA are making their flights from MAJ today, while N503SA remains at MAJ.

These P2012s will be integrated into the Southern / Mokulele operations here is Hawai‘i, as some of the Mokulele C208Bs are due for maintenance.

N503SA is making its ferry flight today. All 3 P2012s will be parked on the Magnum Helicopters ramp.

N592SA

Southern Airways Express is taking delivery of N592SA (msn 208B2066), under lease from ITC-Aerolease. This C208B made its delivery flight from QBR [Redcliffe Airport, Redcliffe, Australia] to KOA, via OOL, APW, and HNL.

Mokulele To Increase MKK and LNY Service

Mokulele Airlines announced that they will increase service to MKK and LNY. They will add a third Saab SF340B to the two they have in service. They will also add three Tecnam P2012 Traveller nine-seat twin-turboprops (see following paragraph), as some of their Cessna C208B Grand Caravans go in for maintenance and repaint. The registration of the third SF340B has not been disclosed.

On a related note, Marianas Southern Airways is terminating its service in the Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas Islands (CNMI) due to the government's cancellation of its contract with the airline. The three P2012s, N401CJ (049/US), N503SA (041/US), and N504SA (048/US), will be transferred to Mokulele, and used as reserve aircraft, as well as for private charters.

Southern Receives N334CJ

Southern Airways has taken delivery of its second Saab SF340B, N334CJ "The Phil Trenary" (msn 340B-334), this evening. Still flying under the previous owner's flight code, it made the trek from DUJ to HNL, via LNS, MEM,WCT, TOR, and RNT, as SBS9102.

Southern Airways Express' N679PA

Southern Airways Express is taking delivery of N679PA "The Phil LeFevre" (msn 340B-345) today. This Saab SF-340B is making its delivery flight from DUJ (via XMD, and RNT). It will eventually be re-registered as N95SA.

Mokulele To Receive Two Saab 340Bs

Mokulele Airlines' parent company, Southern Airways Express, is bringing in a pair of Saab 340Bs to compliment their Cessna C208B fleet. They will be assigned to MKK and LNY flights, and cabins configured to accommodate 30 passengers, and be wearing the Southern livery.

The first SF340B is currently registered as N679PA (msn 340B-345), and will be re-registered as N95SA "The Phil LeFevre" . The second SF340B is currently registered as N334CJ (msn 340B-334), and will be re-registered as N79SA "The Phil Trenary.".

Mokulele Airlines' N183GC

Southern Airways Express has transferred N183GC (msn 208B1210) to Mokulele Airlines fleet. This Cessna C208B Grand Caravan is wearing the Southern Airways livery, but has Mokulele titles added, and has begun service today with a flight from KOA to OGG.

N183GC was ferried to KOA from SMX on 14 January. Prior to arriving in Hawai‘i, it was part of the Southern/Mokulele SoCal EAS flights between IPL and LAX.

Southern Airways To Bring In Beech 1900s

Maui Now reports that Southern Airways Express, sister company to Mokulele Airlines, will begin Beech 1900 service between HNL and MKK and LNY sometime this fall. It's pending governmental approval, but the 19-seat airliner will be able to better serve the communities of Moloka‘i and Lāna‘i.
