Magnum Helicopters Suspends Operations

Citing on-going FAA regulatory requirements, Magnum Helicopters is suspending operations today. Many travel-related social media sites have posted that their reservations in May, June, and July have been canceled.

Mokulele Airlines Suspends Operations

Mokulele Airlines suspended operations today due to a maintenance and inspection stand-down. No date was given as to when the airline will resume operations.


To assist with the some of the stranded Mokulele passengers, Kamaka Air Charter's N828DC stepped in to perform flights between HNL and MKK and LUP.

17 January 2025 UPDATE
Mokulele Airlines announced today that they will resume service on Sunday, 19 January. In a KHON2 News report today, there were questions as to why the airline operates only the Cessna Caravan, and not multiple types. What the report fails to mention is that Mokulele/Southern ferried off the Saab SF340Bs and two of the three Tecnam P2012 Travelers brought from Guam, late last year.

FAA Suspends Kamaka Air's Operations

The FAA has suspended the operating certificate for Kamaka Air, Wednesday, as the airline undergoes a change in leadership. While Kamaka awaits its leadership change, they have contracted with TransAir Hawaii to cover for their services.

Aloha Air Cargo To End HNL-LAX Service

FreightWaves.com reports that Aloha Air Cargo will end its HNL-LAX 767-300F air cargo service on 01 June 2024. Citing weak demand from a competitive market, the airline will shelve the route. Their 737 inter-island operation will continue.

MYAirline Suspends Operations

Aviation Source News reports that Malaysia carrier, MYAirline, is suspending operations on today, due to financial issues. The airline had their latest A320-214, TF-GAD (msn 3349) delivered in early September.  It has not received its Malaysian registration since the delivery flight from lessor, Goshawk Aviation. 

The airline also has two more former Alaska Airlines A320s, N839VA (msn 4610) and N841VA (msn 4655), at TUS, that are due to be leased to MYAirline from Carlyle Aviation Partners, but that is now on hold.

FAA Suspends Asia Pacific Airlines' Operating Certificate

The FAA has immediately suspended the Air Operations Certificate of Asia Pacific Airlines this past Wednesday. The FAA noted that there are major discrepancies in the pilot training and certification records. N888LT made a flight on Wednesday morning to GUM as MGE300.

Currently, N688SL is at HNL, N757QM is also at GUM, and N922TS is in storage at SFB.
