Aloha Suspends Passenger Operations

Aloha Airlines has suspended passenger operations effective March 31st, due to their Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings ...

The Honolulu Advertiser's coverage link.

N740AL (c/n 28640), "Kamohoali‘i", is seen here taxiing to its gate after a flight from OAK (AAH441). It's still wearing the "H" logo of the University of Hawai‘i Warriors football team, as Aloha was the team charter for the Warriors road games in 2007.

This is truly a sad day ... my heart & prayers goes out to all of folks affected by AQ ceasing pax ops.

Hopefully something can be done to bring back AQ's pax ops.

Looks like go! got its wish to kill off one of the local carriers ... but their CRJs can't match the capacity of a 732, especially when it comes to baggage. go!'s in-flight service will never match the quality of AQ's.

The people long ago voted with their wallets on this. Surely, Go is partially responsible for Aloha's demise. No one forced Aloha or Hawaiian to play Go's game. But they did, and people flew and flew and enjoyed the ride while the fare war lasted.

Now it's over, and Aloha lost. Very sad indeed, but that is how things go. In business you adjust to change or perish.
