Effective today, all of the Northwest flight codes have gone away, taken over by Delta flight codes. Thus, really ending the end of an era. The only legacy left of NW are the registration numbers on the DL fleet, N___NW and N___US.
I need a compass. I'm pretty sure Southern merged with North Central to become Republic, then became part of Northwest. Northwest is now Delta. For a while, Delta owned Atlantic Southeast, but sold them to SkyWest. And Delta also bought Western.

Forgot one. Northeast merged with Delta.
Delta insider says the last Northwest flight was on Saturday LAX-LAS as NW2470.
Cool observation! DL pretty much bought the whole compass!
