In part of a new fare structure press release, Hawaiian Airlines intimated that they have signed a letter of intent to acquire turboprop airliners, and establish a regional subsidiary. No specifics were given as to the name of the proposed carrier, nor the aircraft type.
With the acquisition of the turboprops, it appears that Hawaiian will resume service to secondary markets like MKK, LNY, and JHM.

How disappointing to see Hawaiian making this move. They already have a near monopoly on the interisland jet market yet somehow feel they need to squeeze Island Air out of their tiny niche as well. Shame on you, Hawaiian. Where will your greedy expansion stop?
