Island Air Files Chapter 11 Re-organization

Island Air announced today that they are filing for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy re-organization protection, while they work to resolve issues with their aircraft lessors. With this filing, Island Air will continue to operate as normal, and continue its level of service.

N684WP and N685WP have been returned to the lessor.

The last time they pulled this move was when they had 1 Q400 and a second one partially painted in Canada. Why can't management/ownership sort out this business? No stones to challenge HA back when AQ closed and a lack of planning has left them without core markets like West Maui Kahului. Big mistakes followed by lack of apparent interest has long doomed this company to either close or end up like they were a few years back with 2 routes. Sad.
