Shenzhen Airlines is taking delivery of their second 737-87L within the past six days. B-5775 (c/n 39136, l/n 4612) is making its delivery flight from BFI as CSZ901, and will overnight at HNL.

Aloha ‘Oe Holomua

Island Air is ferrying N805WP "Holomua" (msn 353) to VBW to its new home. Like N829EX, it will first stop at FAT, before continuing across the country.

VP-CKH

VP-CKH (msn 3530), an A318-112(CJ) Elite owned by National Air Services (NAS) [XY/KNE Saudi Arabia] is making a stop at HNL. NAS is operating the A318 for the Al Kholi Group, a Saudi Arabian multi-industry conglomerate.

Shanghai's B-5831

Shanghai Airlines is taking delivery of B-5831 (c/n 38059, l/n 4608) today. The 737-86D is making its delivery flight from BFI as CSH531, and will overnight at HNL.

Air Chinaʻs B-5848

Air China is taking delivery of their second 737-89L with the past four days. B-5848 (c/n 41307, l/n 4607) is making its delivery flight from BFI as CCA78, and will overnight at HNL.

Nam Air's 737-524s

Nam Air, a subsidiary of Sriwijaya Air (Indonesia) is taking delivery of a pair of former United Airlines' 737-524s. N16632 (c/n 27900, l/n 2736) and N17627 (c/n 27531, l/n 2700) made stops through JRF and HNL respectively.

N17627 stopped through HNL on the 12th from GYR, and left for MAJ on and 13th. It was originally delivered to Continental Airlines in April 1995 (f/n 627) under lease from GECAS. It continued with United Airlines after the merger (f/n 0627), and was returned to GECAS in May 2013.

N16632 has stopped at JRF, it arrived from GYR on the 13th, and was scheduled to leave for MAJ today, but has yet to depart. It was originally delivered to Continental Airlines in July 1995 (f/n 632), and integrated into the United Airlines fleet (f/n 0632) in October 2010 when the carriers merged. It was withdrawn from the United fleet this past May.

Shenzhen Airlines is taking delivery B-5776 (c/n 39157, l/n 4604) today. The 737-87L is making its delivery flight from BFI as CSZ969, and will overnight at HNL.

Malindoʻs 9M-LNL

Malindo Air is taking delivery of 9M-LNL (c/n 38736, l/n 4592) today. The 737-9GPER is making its delivery flight from BFI as MLO1, and make its brief fuel stop at HNL.

Hainanʻs B-5798

Hainan Airlines is taking delivery of B-5798 (c/n 39203, l/n 4596) this morning. The 737-84P is making its delivery flight from BFI as B5798, and will overnight at HNL.

China Easternʻs B-5796

China Eastern Airlines is taking delivery of B-5796 (c/n 41306, l/n 4599) this morning. The orange Yunnan Peacock-liveried 737-89P is making its delivery flight as CES299, and will overnight at HNL.

DoT Lists go! As Unreliable

In a Honolulu Star-Advertiser article (reprinted in skift.com), the US Department of Transportation gave Mesa Airlines' go! a very low rating for their on-time performance, as a number of their inter-island flights were delayed or cancelled.

QFA12 VH-OQH A380

 

Qantas flight QFA12, an A380-842 (VH-OQH "Reginald Ansett", msn 050), with direct service between Los Angeles International Airport (KLAX/LAX) and Sydney International Airport (YSSY/SYD), diverted to Honolulu due to a passenger requiring medical assistance early this morning. The aircraft was in HNL for two hours, and continued on to SYD.

Aloha ‘Oe Kūmakani

Island Air has bid a fond farewell to N829EX "Kūmakani" (msn 146) today, as itʻs being ferried to the mainland. N829EX is flying to FAT today.

China Southern's B-5770

China Southern Airlines is taking delivery of B-5770 (c/n 38954, l/n 4598) this morning. The 737-81B, their third within the past nine days, is making its delivery flight as CSN571, and will overnight at HNL.

Harmony's C-GMYE

Our September edition of "HNL RareBirds Classic" dates back to December 2005, when Harmony Airways [HQ/HMY] flew between HNL and YVR. Pictured above is Harmony's 757-28A, C-GMYE (c/n 32449, l/n 974, f/n 800), departing Runway 22L for YVR.

32449 was originally purchased by Wells Fargo Bank Northwest (WFBN), and leased to American Trans Air (and subsequently ATA Airlines) in September 2001 as N513AT. In July 2005, it was leased to Harmony Airways. After HMY's shutdown, 32449 was leased to Ethiopian Airlines in August 2007, as ET-AMK, where it continues to fly today.
