BBN Airlines Indonesia's PK-BBK

BBN Airlines Indonesia is ferrying PK-BBK (c/n 35717, l/n 2455) from CGK to MZJ, with stops at GUM and HNL. This 737-9GPER is flying as BBL8005, and is being returned to its lessor, Alterna Capital Partners.

Pk-BBK stopped through HNL in September 2024, as 2-IBAZ, as it was being ferried to Indonesia.

AEI Announces The 737-900ERSF

Aeronautical Engineers Inc (AEI) announced that they are embarking on a 737-900ER freighter conversion project. This will be similar to its current 737-800 freighter conversion program. AEI is aiming to have the 737-900ERSF certified by the FAA in 2029, and subsequent certifications with the EASA and CAAC to follow. The 737-900ERSF will be the largest 737 freighter variant. 500 of the variant were produced by Boeing.

Sun Country Airlines' N901SY

Sun Country Airlines is taking delivery of their first 737-91MER, N901SY (c/n 40069, l/n 5150). It's making its delivery flight from CGK to MZJ, via GUM and JRF. It will be given the fleet number 901. N901SY will make an overnight stop at JRF tonight.

This the first of five former Oman Air 737-91MERs to be acquired by Sun Country Airlines. It will be put into short-term storage at MZJ, and not known when it will be inducted into service.

40069's History:
Nov 2014: Delivered to Oman Air as A4O-BI, under lease from OBALC.
Sep 2017: Sold to GOAL, and the lease transferred.
Apr 2023: Sold to Sun Country Airlines, and the lease transferred.
Aug 2024: Withdrawn from service, and ferried to CGK for storage.

2-IBAZ

Alterna Capital Partners is having 2-IBAZ (c/n 35717, l/n 2455), a 737-9GPER, ferrying from ONT to Asia, with an overnight stop at HNL. It's still wearing the Fly Baghdad livery. The final destination for this ferry flight will be CGK, though the new lessee has been revealed.

Apr 2018: Leased to Azur Air Germany as D-AZUG.
Nov 2018: Leased to Azur Air as VQ-BYX.
Mar 2022: Withdrawn from service, and stored at ADB.
Apr 2022: Ferried to CQM, then CAI for storage.
Aug 2023: Leased to Fly Baghdad as YI-BAZ.
Jan 2024: Withdrawn from service, and stored at AYT.
Feb 2024: Acquired by Alterna Capital Partners as 2-IBAZ.
Apr 2024: Ferried to ROW for storage.
Aug 2024: Ferried to ONT for storage.


18 September 2024 UPDATE
2-IBAZ departed HNL this morning, but returned about 90 minutes later.

28 September 2024 UPDATE

FAA Issues Safety Alert For The 737-900ER

The FAA issued a Safety Alert for airlines who operate the 737-900ER, as the mid-cabin door plug design is the same as the ones on the 737-9.

This new inspection will impact flights by Alaska Airlines and United Airlines to Hawai‘i.

Alaska Airlines Retires "More To Love" Special Livery

With Alaska Airlines withdrawing all of the Airbus A320 series aircraft from their fleet, the airline is retiring the red and blue "More To Love" special livery that noted the merger between Virgin America and Alaska Airlines. One of Alaska's 737-990ERs, N439AS (c/n 41727, l/n 5738, f/n 493), was painted in the "More To Love" special livery, along with on two A321-253Ns, N962VA (msn 8120, f/n 926) and N927VA (msn 8126, f/n 927).

This 737-990ER was ferried to GEG this morning, to be repainted in the standard Alaska Airlines livery. Both A321Ns were withdrawn from service last month, and returned to their lessors.

N493AS's final flight to the islands in the "More To Love" livery was on 24 September to HNL, as it arrived from SEA as ASA811, and departed to SFO as ASA804. The above photo was taken on 07 September, as it departed for SEA as ASA888.

Lion Air's PK-LKF

Lion Air is ferrying PK-LKF (c/n 38723, l/n 4140) from BTH to SBD, via GUM and HNL. This 737-9GPER is flying as LNI7001, and will be returned to its lessor, Wings Capital Partners, then leased to Delta Air Lines.

PK-LKF's History:
Aug 2012: Delivered to Lion Air, under lease from Jackson Square Aviation. 
___ 2016: Acquired by Wings Capital Partners, and lease transferred.
Jun 2022: Withdrawn from service, and stored at BTH.

Lion Air is ferrying PK-LJJ (c/n 37288, l/n 3849) from BTH to SBD, via GUM and HNL, as LNI7001. This 737-9GPER is being returned to its lessor, Novus Aviation Capital, then moved. to Delta Air Lines

Jly 2016: Sold to Novus Aviation Capital, then leased back.
Mar 2018: Painted in the LionParcel.com livery.

Lion Air’s 737-9GPER, PK-LJJ (c/n 37289, l/n 3888) is being returned to its lessor, Novus Aviation Capital, as it will be leased to Delta Air Lines. It’s flying from BTH to SBD, with stops at GUM and HNL, as LNI7001.

PK-LJJ’s History:
Jan 2012: Delivered. To Lion Air, under lease from Novus Aviation Capital.
Apr 2020: Withdrawn from service, and placed into storage at SOC, then CGK.
Dec 2020: Returned to service.
Apr 2021: Withdrawn from service, and stored at CGK, then BTH.
Feb 2022: Returned to service.
Apr 2022: Withdrawn from service, and stored at BTH.

Lion Air's PK-LKL

Lion Air is returning PK-LKL (c/n 38683, l/n 4236) to its lessor, Aircastle. This 737-9GPER is ferrying from BTH to SBD (via GUM and HNL) as LNI7001.

This is the first of four additional 737-9GPERs that will be leased to Delta Air Lines by Aircastle.

PK-LKL'S History:
Nov 2012: Delivered to Lion Air, under lease from BOC.
___ 2014: Sold to Aircastle, and lease transferred.
Jun 2018: Subleased to flynas for three months, and operated by Lion Air.
Feb 2022: Withdrawn from service, and stored at BTH.

Lion Air's VP-CEF

The last of the 29 Lion Group 737-9GPERs acquired by Castlelake to lease to Delta Air Lines is making a stop at HNL, as it ferries from CGK to SBD, also stopping in GUM. VP-CEF (c/n 37286, l/n 3813) is the last 737-9GPER.

37286's History:
Oct 2011: Delivered to Lion Air as PK-LJF, leased from CMIG Aviation Leasing
Feb 2018: Painted in the LionParcel.com livery
Mar 2018: Acquired by Aircastle, and the lease transferred.
Jan 2021: Withdrawn from service, and stored at BTH.
Dec 2021: Ferried to CGK, and acquired by Castlelake as VP-CEF.
Jan 2022: Ferried to SBD for lease to Delta Air Lines, to registered as N931DM.

Lion Air's VP-CEI

Castlelake is having VP-CEI (c/n 38301, l/n 5176) ferried from CGK to SBD, via SZB, GUM and HNL, as it will join the Delta Air Lines fleet. VP-CEI was stuck at GUM due to a maintenance issue since 20 Dec. It's making an overnight stop at HNL tonight.

Dec 2014: Delivered to Thai Lion Air as HS-LTP.
Apr 2020: Transferred to Lion Air as PK-LSG.
Mar 2021: Withdrawn from service, and ferried to SUB for storage.

Castlelake is having a former Malindo Air 737-9GPERs ferry from SZB to SBD, via GUM and HNL, as it will join the Delta Air Lines fleet. VP-CFQ (c/n 38729, l/n 4380), and it will overnight at HNL.

Sep 2020: Withdrawn from service, and stored at KUL.

Batik Air's VP-CFT

Castlelake is having a former Batik Air 737-9GPER ferry from CGK to SBD, via GUM and HNL, as it will join the Delta Air Lines fleet. VP-CFT (c/n 38731,  l/n 4463) will overnight at HNL.

May 2013: Delivered to Batik Air as PK-LBO.
Jun 2021: Withdrawn from service, and stored at CGK.
Dec 2021: Sold to Castlelake as VP-CFT, and will be leased to Delta Air Lines as N947DC.

Lion Air's N357AG

Nomadic Aviation is ferrying N357AG (c/n 35723, l/n 2848), a former Lion Air 737-9GPER, from ASP to OPF, via BNE, GUM, HNL, and PHX, as OMD536. This one is not going to Delta Air Lines.

Mar 2009: Delivered to Lion Air as PK-LFV.
Sep 2015: Sold to DVB Bank, and leased back to Lion Air.
Jun 2018: Sold to Aviation Capital Group, and lease transferred.
Jun 2021: Withdrawn from service, and stored at CGK.

Another Batik Air 737-9GPER, VP-CFH (c/n 38689, l/n 4441), is being ferried from CGK to SBD (via GUM and HNL) by Castlelake for its lease to Delta Air Lines. It will be registered as N942DC.

Jun 2021: Withdrawn from service, and stored at CGK.

Castlelake is having another Batik Air 737-9GPER ferried from CGK to SBD, via GUM and HNL. VP-CIC (c/n 38742, l/n 4726) is making its ferry flight to join the Delta Air Lines fleet. It arrived this morning at HNL.

Jun 2021: Withdrawn from service, and stored at CGK.

Lion Air's VP-CFY

Lion Air's VP-CFY (c/n 38741, l/n 4679) is ferrying from CGK to SBD, via GUM and HNL. This 737-9GPER, ferried by 6West (for Castlelake), is making its overnight stop at HNL tonight.

38741's History:
Nov 2013: Originally delivered to Lion Air as PK-LOF, and has the 100th 737NG special livery.
Oct 2021: Withdrawn from service, acquired by Castlelake, and registered as VP-CFY.


05 Nov 2021 UPDATE
VP-CFY was moved to Hardstand 188A, as it has an undisclosed maintenance issue. Its next leg to SBD is on hold indefinitely.

09 Nov 2021 UPDATE
This 737-9GPER was towed back to the AirService Hawaii ramp for repairs.

10 Nov 2021 UPDATE
VP-CFY departed for SBD this morning.

Castlelake is ferrying VP-CIS (c/n 39880, l/n 5081) from CGK to SBD, via GUM and HNL for this 737-9GPER to join the Delta Air Lines fleet. It arrived early this morning, and will overnight before continuing on.

Jun 2021: Withdrawn from service.
Oct 2021: Registered as VP-CIS by Castlelake.
