Boeing Ends 737NG Production

Boeing Commercial is ending production of the 737 Next Generation line after KLM's PH-BCL (l/n 7542) rolls off the assembly line. Numerically, Skymark Airlines' JA73AC (l/n 7597) is the final 737 NG to be built. We are hoping that JA73AC makes its delivery flight through HNL, but it's highly unlikely, as most summer Japan-bound deliveries go through ANC.

There are still six China United Airlines 737-89Ps and a China Eastern Airlines 737-89P awaiting delivery at BFI, that should stop through HNL.

The only Next Generation-based airframes that will continue production, is the P-8A Poseidon for the US Navy, and other international military forces.

Unidentified Chinese Carrier Orders 30 737s

At the Farnborough International Airshow, Boeing announced that an unidentified Chinese carrier has placed an order for a mix of 737NGs and 737 MAXs.

China Southern To Order 80 737s

World Airline News reports that China Southern Airlines is in the process of finalizing an order with Boeing for 30 737NGs and 50 737MAXs. Other outlets are reporting that Xiamen Air, a China Southern subsidiary, will also order 30 737MAXs. Included in the deal, will be the sale of all 13 China Southern 757-200s back to Boeing.

Air China Orders 60 737s

Air China has committed to purchase 60 737s, as a mix of 737NGs and 737MAXs.

China Eastern Orders 80 737s

China Eastern Airlines announced today, that they are ordering and purchasing 80 737s. The combined total is comprised of both the current 737NG and the new 737MAX models, though no specifics were given as to which variant and its quantity. This order will keep CES 737 deliveries stopping through HNL til at lease 2020.
